YIQIS2020 – Young Italian Quantum Information Science conference 2020
28 September 2020 to 2 October 2020 – Online event
This online workshop constitutes a spin-off event of the traditional Italian Quantum Information Science Conference (IQIS), which this year will not be organized, due to the COVID-19 emergency.
In the spirit of the past years, this conference aims to give a picture of the state-of-art of quantum information in Italy, and around the world, both from an experimental and theoretical point of view.
This event is addressed, in particular, to young researchers that will have the opportunity of presenting their work, discussing and establishing scientific collaborations. Furthermore, the career panels will provide overview over possible job opportunities within and out of academia.
The event will take place from the 28th of September to the 2nd of October, in the afternoons of Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Registration is now open at https://agenda.infn.it/event/23347/, and the deadline is on the 16th of September. Contributions, instead, should be submitted within the 7th of September, through the same form.
This event has no registration fee.

SEMINAR: Quantum correlations: Where do their limits come from?
Friday 13th December 2019 at 16:00. Aula Conversi – Ed. Marconi, Sapienza Università di Roma.
According to quantum theory, the correlations between outcomes of separated experiments violate Bell inequalities (constraints that any local hidden variable model must satisfy). However, these violations are limited. In principle, higher violations could occur.
Since these violations have extraordinary technological applications, it is important to understand where do the limits come from (without merely invoking quantum theory as “explanation”), what these limits are telling us about the universe, and what can we learn from experiments aiming these limits.
